Evergreen palm with a fibrous trunk. Fan shaped leaves, from a spiny petiole. Male plants have yellow flowers, female flowers green. Fruit yellow to blue-black, kidney-shaped, ripening in autumn.
The Chinese Windmill palm is very cold-tolerant and can survive to as low as -18 C, making it suitable for frost areas.
