BROMELIADS - Alcantarea 

Alcantarea is a group of extremely large growing Bromeliad. some reaching sizes of 1.5m across with flower spikes 2.5m high. In their natural habitat they are often found perched on the beautiful high rocky cliffs of Brazil.

Origin: Brazil.

Botanical name: Alcantarea imperialis

Family: Bromeliaceae.

Suitable: Indoor & outdoor (avoid frost).

Max height: 4m.

Plant Care Guide

 Water: Moderate.

Make sure the middle of the plant is holding water but let the water empty before topping up.

    Light: Indirect light / Shade. Leaves will be damaged in direct sun.

        Temperature: 21 - 32°C. Ideal warm temperatures.

        Humidity: Medium / High. 60%. 

        Soil: Well draining soil

        Fertilizer: Once a month in spring & summer.
